Yes. Organisations on the Basic or Pro plan can create free (no-cost) ticket types for events. This allows supporters to register for tickets without making a payment. You can offer free tickets alongside paid tickets in the same event, or make the entire event free. For a full walkthrough of setting up an event, see How do I create a new event?
Create a free ticket type
- Log in to OrgHQ.
- Go to Manage events, under Events in the left-hand menu.
- Select Add new event at the top right of the screen, or select Edit for an existing event.
- Go to the Tickets tab.
- Select Free as the Pricing method for the ticket type.
- Complete the remaining event details and select Save and submit for a new event, or Save for an existing event.
Do I need to nominate a bank account for free events?
When your organisation uses the events feature for the first time, OrgHQ asks an administrator to nominate a bank account. This is a one-time setup step for all events, whether the tickets are free or paid.
For organisations that only run free events, the nominated bank account remains inactive. It would only be used if you later create ticket types that involve a payment.
Are there any costs for free tickets?
No. GiveNow does not charge any additional fees for free tickets. Platform and transaction fees only apply when a paid transaction is processed. For a full breakdown of GiveNow's fees, see What does it cost to use GiveNow?
