As part of our compliance with AUSTRAC (the Australian federal agency responsible for monitoring financial transactions), GiveNow is required to verify the identities of individuals who control a not-for-profit organisation. This ensures transparency and helps prevent financial misuse.
Identity verification requirements

We require the first and last name of the Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary, which we reconcile with a verifiable database.
For organisations not registered with the ACNC:
We require the following information for the Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary:
- Full name
- Full residential address
- One clear digital copy of any of the following identification documents:
- Australian driver’s licence or permit
- Australian passport
- Government-issued proof of address card
- Government-issued concession card (e.g., pensioner, health care, or seniors health care card) with current address
- A notice from the Australian Taxation Office or other government agency (e.g., Centrelink) containing the person’s name and residential address, issued within the last 12 months
