How do I close or remove a cause?

You can close or remove a cause from OrgHQ. Approved causes can be closed. Incomplete causes can be removed. You can also hide or show a cause, which is useful for managing recurring fundraising campaigns without permanently closing the cause.

Important!: Closing a cause will permanently cancel all active regular donations to that cause. This cannot be undone, even by GiveNow staff. If you want to temporarily stop new donations while keeping regular donations active, hide the cause instead.

Note: Once you have closed a cause, it cannot be reopened without GiveNow's help. If you need a closed cause reopened, contact service@givenow.com.au.

Close an approved cause

1. Log in to OrgHQ.
2. Go to Manage causes, under Cause & donations in the left-hand menu.
3. Locate the cause with an Approved status.
4. Select Close from the dropdown menu to the right of the Edit button.
   
5. Confirm that you wish to close the cause.

Remove an incomplete cause

1. Log in to OrgHQ.
2. Go to Manage causes, under Cause & donations in the left-hand menu.
3. Locate the cause with an Incomplete status.
4. Select Remove from the dropdown menu to the right of the Edit button.
