How do I close or remove a cause?

You can close or remove a cause from OrgHQ. Approved causes can be closed. Incomplete causes can be removed. You can also hide a cause, which is useful for managing recurring fundraising campaigns without permanently closing the cause.

Important!: Closing a cause will permanently cancel all active regular donations to that cause and close any CrowdRaiser pages linked to it. This cannot be undone, even by GiveNow staff. If you want to temporarily stop new donations while keeping regular donations and CrowdRaisers active, hide the cause instead.

Note: Only a GiveNow team member can reopen a closed cause. Contact us at service@givenow.com.au if you need a cause reopened.

Close an approved cause

1. Log in to OrgHQ.
2. Go to Manage causes, under Cause & donations in the left-hand menu.
3. Locate the cause with an Approved status.
4. Select Close from the dropdown menu to the right of the Edit button.
   
5. Confirm that you wish to close the cause.

Remove an incomplete cause

1. Log in to OrgHQ.
2. Go to Manage causes, under Cause & donations in the left-hand menu.
3. Locate the cause with an Incomplete status.
4. Select Remove from the dropdown menu to the right of the Edit button.
