Once your cause is live on GiveNow, you can share its URL to direct donors to your donation page.
Find and copy your cause URL
You can find your cause URL in two ways.
From the OrgHQ Overview page
- Log in to OrgHQ. You will land on the Overview page by default.
-
Locate the GiveNow live pages section in the bottom-right of the page.
- Select your cause name. Your public cause page will open in a new tab.
- Copy the URL from your browser's address bar.
From the Manage Causes page
- Log in to OrgHQ.
- Go to Manage Causes, located under Causes & donations in the left-hand menu.
-
Select View from the dropdown menu to the right of the Edit button for your cause.
-
An internal preview of your cause page will open. At the top of the preview, look for a message showing your public cause URL. Copy the URL from that message.
Note: Once you share your cause URL, avoid changing it. Changing a cause URL will break existing links, QR codes, and printed materials. To request a URL change, email service@givenow.com.au.
Additional sharing options on your cause page
Your public cause page includes a Share button below the donation form. Select it to open a menu with these options:
- Copy link: Copies your cause URL to your clipboard (another way to grab the URL if you are already viewing your public cause page).
- Facebook, X, LinkedIn: Posts your cause directly to social media.
- Email: Opens a pre-filled email with your cause link.
- QR Code: Downloads a QR code for print materials such as flyers, posters, and business cards. For tips on using QR codes effectively, see Top tips for using QR codes.
Link your cause page from a donate button on your website
Once you have copied your cause URL, most website builders let you add a link or URL to a button:
- Add or select a donate button on your website.
- Open the button's settings and find the option to add a link or URL.
- Paste your cause page URL.
- Save and publish your changes.
For platform-specific instructions, consult your website builder's help documentation.
Other places to use your cause URL
Your cause URL can be pasted anywhere you want to link to your cause — staff email signatures, thank-you messages, email newsletter tools and mail merges, social media bios, and any other digital or printed materials.
If you would rather embed a donation form directly into your website so donors do not need to leave your site, see What is an embedded form? and How do I embed a donation form on my organisation's website?
