You can edit or close existing custom questions at any time. Changes apply wherever the question is used, including event and membership purchase forms.
Note: Editing an existing question may make past answers inconsistent with future responses. If you want to preserve old data, create a new question instead of changing an existing one. Closing a question will remove it from all active listings. If you only want to stop using a question temporarily, you may prefer to remove it from individual events or memberships instead.
Edit a custom question
- Log in to OrgHQ.
- Go to Custom questions, under Details in the left-hand menu.
- Under Existing questions, find the question you want to review (or use the search bar).
- Select the question.
- Make your changes in the Properties section (for example, edit the text, adjust the question type, update options, or revise help text).
- Review your changes in the Preview section.
- Select Save to apply your edits.
Close a custom question
- Log in to OrgHQ.
- Go to Custom questions, under Details in the left-hand menu.
- Under Existing questions, find the question you want to close (or use the search bar).
- Select the question.
- In the Used by section, review which event or membership forms currently include the question.
- Select the three dots next to Save and choose Close.
- Confirm you want to close the question. It will no longer appear on active events or memberships.
Note: Closed questions cannot be reopened. If you might need the question again in future, consider removing it from current forms instead of closing it. See How do I remove custom questions from an event or membership?
