If your organisation has a matched giving program, you can use GiveNow to incentivise donations by displaying matching partners ("matchers") on your cause page and embedded form. Each matcher you add increases the displayed multiplier — one matcher doubles the displayed impact, two matchers triple it, and so on.
Set up matched giving
- Log in to OrgHQ.
- Go to Manage causes, located under Causes & donations in the left-hand menu.
- Select Edit for the cause you want to update, then go to the Settings tab.
-
Locate the Matched Giving section and select Would you like to display matchers for this cause?.
- Enter the Matcher Name and upload a Matcher Logo for the supporting organisation.
- Select Save to apply your changes.
To add another matcher, select Add a new matched giving and enter the name and logo. The multiplier updates automatically based on the number of matcher profiles.
Note: The matched giving feature currently supports whole number multipliers only.
How it displays
On the GiveNow cause page, the matcher logo and name appear at the top of the page. On embedded forms, only the multiplier details are included in the payment process — this gives your organisation control over how matchers are displayed on your own website.
Tips for enhancing your matched giving campaign
- Cause description: Include details about the matcher in your cause text to explain why the support is being given and inspire donors. See Display > General > Description.
- Thank you message: Remind the donor that their gift has been multiplied. See Donation form > General > Thank you message.
- Receipt email: Include a note about the matched giving program so donors have a lasting record. See Settings > Donations and receipts > Receipt email.
The matcher logo is being cropped. How do I fix it?
The matcher logo area is designed for a square image. If your matcher has a long or wide logo, it will be cropped and may not display as intended. As a workaround, place the logo on a square background with some padding around it before uploading, so the full logo is visible within the cropping area.
Does the matched amount count towards my progress bar goal?
No. The progress bar on your cause page only tracks donations processed through GiveNow. The matched giving amount is not added to the progress bar total. You can set your campaign goal to reflect only the donation target and describe the matched component in your cause text. For example: "We are raising $35,000 for 35 years. All donations will be matched dollar for dollar by our generous matched giving partner, up to $35,000."
Can I link a CrowdRaiser to a matched giving campaign?
CrowdRaisers sit under the main cause, so donations made through a CrowdRaiser page will count towards the cause total and benefit from the matched giving display. You do not need to create a separate cause for a CrowdRaiser activity — describe the specific activity (such as a fun run or challenge) in the CrowdRaiser page copy, and it will connect to the broader campaign automatically.
