How do I add offline donations to my cause?

If your organisation receives donations outside of GiveNow (for example, cash or direct bank transfers), you can record the total on your cause page in OrgHQ. Offline amounts from your CrowdRaisers are also rolled up automatically. For more on managing the total raised and progress bar, see How do I display the amount raised on my cause page?

Note: GiveNow cannot issue receipts for donations not processed through the platform. Offline donation amounts added in OrgHQ must be receipted by your organisation directly.

Add a direct offline amount to a cause

1. Log in to OrgHQ.
2. Go to Manage causes, under Causes & donations in the left-hand menu.

3. Select Edit for the cause you want to update, then go to the Display tab.

   

4. In the Offline amount section, enter the cumulative total of offline donations received directly for the cause in the Direct offline amount field. Do not include amounts from your CrowdRaisers — these are rolled up automatically (see below).

   

5. Select Save to apply your changes. The date and your name will appear as a 'Last updated' line beneath the field.

Note: The Direct offline amount field captures only offline donations received directly by the cause. Amounts from CrowdRaisers linked to this cause are recorded separately on each CrowdRaiser's page and automatically included in the cause's total offline figure.

How offline amounts from CrowdRaisers appear

Beneath the Direct offline amount field, the Offline amounts from CrowdRaisers table lists each CrowdRaiser linked to your cause, showing:

• The CrowdRaiser's name and owner.
• The offline amount recorded (or 'Not recorded' if none has been added).
• A View link that opens the CrowdRaiser's page, where the offline amount can be added or edited.

A subtotal row at the bottom of the table sums all CrowdRaiser offline amounts.

The Cause totals summary beneath the table shows four tiles:

• Direct offline: The amount you entered directly for this cause.
• Offline from CrowdRaisers: The subtotal from the CrowdRaiser table.
• Online donations: The total of donations processed through GiveNow for this cause.
• Combined total: The sum of all three, matching the total raised figure shown on your cause page.
