We believe that all not-for-profit organisations, regardless of size, DGR status, budget, mission, or location, should have access to the digital fundraising features they need to collect donations.
Any Australian-based incorporated not-for-profit organisation with a Constitution or Trust Deed (excluding political parties), a valid ABN, and an authority to fundraise can set up an account on GiveNow. To receive donations, your organisation must also have a bank account in the organisation's name.
In some cases, we accept unincorporated organisations, provided they are registered with the ACNC, have DGR status, or belong to specific types of groups — such as VICSES units and other emergency services. These groups must meet the same requirements as incorporated organisations, including having a valid ABN, an authority to fundraise, and a bank account in the group’s name.
What if I’m an individual or business?
If you are an individual or a commercial entity wanting to raise funds for a social cause or charity, you don’t need to register an organisation account. Instead, you can create a CrowdRaiser to collect donations for any of the community organisations listed on GiveNow (search for an organisation here).
Setting up a CrowdRaiser only takes four simple steps. For instructions, see How do I create a CrowdRaiser to fundraise for an organisation?
