Can I set a custom Salesforce campaign name for a cause?
Yes. By default, GiveNow uses the cause name as the Salesforce campaign name. You can override this by editing the cause in OrgHQ and entering a value in the Salesforce Campaign Name field at the bottom of the Displaytab. This field appears after the Salesforce integration has been configured.
What happens if I rename a campaign in Salesforce?
When GiveNow creates a campaign in Salesforce, it stores the Salesforce Campaign ID. GiveNow uses this ID (not the name) to look up campaigns, so renaming a campaign in Salesforce will not affect how donations are received.
Note: The Salesforce Campaign ID cannot be modified in GiveNow. If you want to send donations to a different campaign, update the Salesforce Campaign Name on the cause in OrgHQ.
What happens when a cause changes on GiveNow?
GiveNow keeps cause names and cause statuses in sync with their corresponding campaigns in Salesforce. The platform verifies and updates cause campaigns during the nightly batch process.
What happens when a regular donation changes on GiveNow?
For regular donations, GiveNow keeps the regular donation status and end date in sync with the corresponding regular giving campaign in Salesforce. These are also verified and updated during the nightly batch process.
What happens if sending a donation to Salesforce fails?
GiveNow re-sends the donation during the next nightly batch process. The nightly batch picks up all donations that could not be sent during the previous day. Each failed donation is retried up to three times across consecutive nightly runs. If it still fails after three attempts, you can manually resend it. See Troubleshooting the Salesforce integration.
