The vast majority of your donation goes directly to the organisation. Two small fees are deducted from each donation:
- Platform fee: A small percentage that covers the cost of running GiveNow.
- Transaction fee: The cost of processing your payment (credit card or direct debit), passed on at cost with no mark-up.
Organisations are not charged any setup, subscription, or ongoing fees beyond these two.
You can help more of your donation reach the organisation
During the donation process, you will see a Cover platform costs toggle on the payment page. This is on by default. When it is on, the platform fee is added to your total rather than being deducted from the donation, so the organisation receives more. You can turn it off if you prefer.
For example, if you donate $100 and choose to cover the platform fee, the organisation receives $99.74 — the only deduction is the small transaction fee.
