The vast majority of your donation goes directly to the organisation. Two small fees are deducted from each donation:
- Platform fee: A small percentage that covers the cost of running GiveNow. The rate depends on the organisation's plan (Starter, Basic, or Pro).
- Transaction fee: The cost of processing your payment (credit card or direct debit). GiveNow passes this on at cost with no mark-up.
Organisations are not charged any set-up, subscription, or ongoing fees beyond these two.
You can help more of your donation reach the organisation
During the donation process, you will see a Cover platform costs option on the payment page. This is turned on by default. When it is on, the platform fee is added to your total rather than being deducted from the donation, so the organisation receives more.
For example, if you donate $100 to an organisation using a Visa or Mastercard and choose to cover the platform fee, the organisation receives $99.74. The only deduction is the small transaction fee.

Platform fee rates vary by the organisation's plan:
- Starter plan: 1.5%
- Basic plan: 2.7%
- Pro plan: 3.5%
