Your organisation's bank account is where GiveNow sends your remittances (the funds collected from donations, event ticket sales, and memberships). You can manage your bank accounts in OrgHQ under Finance > Bank accounts.
Note: Only users with Administrator access in OrgHQ can add or replace bank accounts.
Replace an existing bank account
If your organisation's bank details have changed, use the Replace option. This will replace the bank account for all causes, events, and memberships that are currently linked to the original account.
- Log in to OrgHQ.
- Go to Bank accounts, located under Finance in the left-hand menu.
- Select Replace next to the bank account you want to update.
- Enter the new bank details:
- Account name (the exact name as it appears on your bank statement — this must be the organisation name).
- BSB.
- Account number.
- Upload a verification document. This must be a single digital image file (such as a bank statement or deposit slip) that shows the account name, BSB, and account number.
- Enter at least one authorised signatory's details: first name, last name, email address, and date of birth.
- Select Submit.
The new bank account details will be reviewed by the GiveNow team and then submitted to our payment partner for approval. A replacement bank account can take up to two business days to be fully activated. You will receive a confirmation email when the process is complete.
Note: Remittances will only be sent to the replacement bank account from the beginning of the next calendar month after the bank account is approved. Make sure to submit your update well in advance to avoid delays in receiving funds.
Add a new bank account
In most cases, replacing your existing bank account is the right option. However, if your organisation needs a separate bank account (for example, to receive remittances for a specific cause into a different account), you can add one.
- Log in to OrgHQ.
- Go to Bank accounts, located under Finance in the left-hand menu.
- Select the link to add a new bank account.
- Enter the new bank details, upload your verification document, and provide at least one authorised signatory's details (as described in the replace steps above).
- Select Submit. The new account will be reviewed and approved by the GiveNow team.
Once the new bank account is approved, you can assign it to a specific cause by editing the cause and selecting the bank account in the Settings tab.
