The GiveNow membership feature has been built to manage your membership renewals easily.
Memberships with periodic renewal frequency
We encourage all organisations to set up their membership program to default to automatic periodic payments of membership. When your organisation sets up the membership type to have a periodic payment, the membership payment will process immediately and automatically process again. It's suggested that Organisations include text in their membership Receipt Note advising that memberships will auto-renew. Please note: If an organisation increases the price of the membership, the organisation is responsible for communicating that to existing members.
The Frequency options for a Membership that will auto-renew are:
Members can log in to MyGiving and cancel an upcoming renewal if they wish.
One-off memberships will not automatically renew and there is no end-date to a membership.
A one-off membership is perfect for:
- Life-time membership offerings, or
- Where there is expected to be a high turnover of membership each period and therefore the current cohort of members are not expected to renew.
For the management of one-off membership that may require members to pay dues again, organisations are encouraged to download member data and manage this renewal process manually off-line.
