The difference between a cause and a CrowdRaiser is the number of tiers included in the request for a donation.
In practical terms, on the GiveNow website the differences include:
- A cause page can only be set up by a registered user of the organisation. This will take between 24 to 48 hours as the bank account nominated to receive remittance payments must be registered with our banking partner.
- A CrowdRaiser page can be set up by anyone, that is supporters and registered organisation users alike. Once a user accepts the verification link sent in the confirmation email, you can be set up in 5 minutes at any time of the day or night.
It is important to note that both options result in donations being transacted securely on the GiveNow website, with the funds being transferred to the bank account linked to the cause in the regular monthly remittance cycle.
From 1 December, 2019 the CrowdRaiser feature is only available for organisations registered for the GiveNow Basic and Pro plans (for more information on GiveNow plans, see here).
